PricewaterhouseCoopers Names Martha Corbett Market Managing Partner for Southern California and Phoenix Region

Corbett First Woman at PwC to Lead Major West Coast Market


LOS ANGELES, June 18, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP today announced that Martha Corbett has been named market managing partner of the firm's Southern California and Phoenix cluster of offices, which include Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Phoenix, San Diego and Las Vegas. Ms. Corbett, 46, is the first woman in the history of the firm to lead a major market on the west coast and the only female among Big Four firms now serving in that capacity.

Ms. Corbett's appointment reflects PricewaterhouseCoopers' commitment to diversity, according to the firm, a commitment also recognized by Working Mother magazine, which has honored PwC for being one of the top ten companies for working mothers in the nation, and by Diversity Inc. magazine, which has recognized the firm for its accomplishments in that arena.

In the newly created role of market managing partner, one of 19 such positions dedicated to serving PwC's key strategic markets, Ms. Corbett will be responsible for coordinating cross line of service teamwork and consistency in her market and for ensuring that the service line and industry sector leaders in the market deliver distinctive client service, build client relationships and drive revenue growth.

Ms. Corbett is a CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner with more than 20 years of public accounting and business advisory experience, particularly as it relates to financial reporting of public companies, internal control reviews and remediation and other business advisory services. She has served in a number of roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers including: The U.S. Strategy Committee, U.S. Dispute, Analysis and Investigations Leadership team and Advisory Services Leader for Southern California, a position she will maintain in her new role.
