Boliden's newly developed zinc alloy ready for market

ZiNiGal™ is the new zinc-nickel alloy developed by Boliden that, after a series
of test runs at selected customers, now is in commercial production. With
ZiNiGal™ Boliden is focusing on meeting customer's needs within the general
galvanizing industry.

The development of ZiNiGal™ has been conducted in close cooperation with
Boliden's customers and is yet another step in Boliden's strategy to be Europe's
leading zinc supplier.

-	By using this alloy the general galvanizers, which make up approximately 20
percent of our zinc customers, can improve both the esthetics of their products
and the economics of their business, says Ulf Söderström, Vice president of
Business Area Market.
ZiNiGal™ is a ready-made alloy that decreases zinc consumption and improves
nearly all technical capabilities such as brightness, coating homogeneity,
abrasion behaviour, adherence and ductility. So far Boliden has sold 5,000 tons.

In addition to developing new alloys for the galvanizing industry, Boliden has
also set up a service function where Boliden customers can rely on the technical
support and expertise not only in the day-to-day matters but also in future
development projects.
