Volume of transshipment at Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd continues to increase

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd, the subsidiary of the joint stock company
Ventspils nafta, continued to increase the volume of transshipment in the first
five months of 2007, which has grown by 2.9 million tons comparing to cargo
volumes in the corresponding period of 2006. From January to May 2007,
Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd transshipped 5.5 mln tons of crude oil and
petroleum products delivered to the terminal by railway, sea and diesel
pipeline. 

Diesel delivered to the terminal by railway, sea, as well as petroleum products
pipeline accounted for 4 mln tons of the total volume of cargos handled at
Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd. From January to May 2007, car petrol transported
by rail and sea amounted to 0.9 mln tons while crude oil delivered to Ventspils
nafta termināls Ltd by sea - for 0.5 mln tons. 

The increase in the volume of transshipped cargos at Ventspils nafta termināls
Ltd can be explained both by receiving of diesel through petroleum products
pipeline successfully started at the beginning of 2007, and the effective
cooperation with Euromin Holdings (Cyprus) Limited, a company of the
international oil trade consortium Vitol Group being a shareholder of JSC
Ventspils nafta and co-owner of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd. 

In May of 2007 Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd handled 1.05 mln tons of crude oil
and petroleum products including more than 0.7 mln tons of diesel, 0.2 mln tons
of petrol and 0.1 mln tons of crude oil. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta, 51% of
which belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta, but 49% - to Vitol's company Euromin
Holdings. The terminal renders transit services - receiving of oil and diesel
petrol by pipelines; receiving of oil, diesel, car petrol and other petroleum
products by railway and sea, their storage and transshipment. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is the largest of such companies in the region,
and its crude oil and petroleum products shore-tank farm reaches 1.2 mln cubic
metres and has no analogues among similar companies in the nearest countries.
