The Rezidor Hotel Group today opens the first property in Spain: The Radisson
SAS El Marques Resort & Spa in Mijas adds 105 suites to the company's portfolio
- between 2007 and 2009, Rezidor will open 20.000 new rooms in total. Located in
the exclusive urban development “Mijas Golf” between Marbella and Málaga, the
brand new first-class and full-service resort is a perfect holiday destination
for golfers, families and couples seeking relaxation at the prestigious Costa
del Sol with more than 300 days of sunshine per year. The hotel is owned by the
Mijas Hill Development S.A. and operated by Rezidor's franchise partner Hoteles,
Ocio y Restauracion, S.A.
The Radisson SAS El Marques Resort & Spa features 105 luxury and contemporary
designed suites with one, two or three bedrooms (55 to 156 square meters), a
fully equipped kitchenette and a private terrace or balcony. Guests also benefit
from additional services such as free high speed internet access, flat screen
television, air condition and 24-hour room service.
At the signature restaurant “Scratch”, Executive Chef Alvaro Garces offers a
fine gourmet cuisine with a Mediterranean touch - based on fresh seasonal
products and playing with flavors, aromas and textures. The menus are
accompanied by excellent regional and international wines. The Radisson Super
Breakfast Buffet is served at the restaurant “Itaca”, and the “Albatros” Snack
Bar as well as the Pool Bar “The Pergola” complete the F&B concept.
Besides one indoor pool and two outdoor pools, the spa on 600 square meters is
the resort's heart. Wellness enthusiasts can relax in a Finnish sauna, a Turkish
bath and in whirlpools - refresh themselves in an ice basin and under the ice
fountain, experience the Pilates studio and the gym with beautiful views or
simply enjoy a massage or beauty treatment. Golfers may know the Costa del Sol
as “Costa del Golf”, with more than 40 courses which belong to the best of the
world. Tee times can be arranged at the reception, and guests also benefit from
reduced greenfees. And for those coming to the Radisson SAS El Marques Resort &
Spa for business, the hotel offers a fully equipped business center including
two meeting rooms which can also be booked for private lunches or dinners.
