HONG KONG, June 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- City Telecom (H.K.) Limited ("CTI") (Nasdaq:CTEL) (SEHK:1137) considers its talents (staff) to be its biggest asset. At the inaugural Hong Kong HR Awards (http://www.hrmawards.com/), CTI is pleased to accept the award for "Best Retention Strategy" and to be selected as a Finalist for "Best Talent Management."

The Hong Kong HR Awards is the leading event for recognizing and celebrating exceptional Human Resource professionals and organizational practices. Winners and finalists in this year's awards include global and local corporations such as GE Company, PepsiCo International -- Asia, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Federal Express, HSBC Limited, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, etc

To receive the "Best Retention Strategy" award, CTI had to go through layers of evaluation, including outlining company talent retention strategy, creativity of the relevant policies, cross examining of retention policies with the turnover rates of talent, etc. CTI established the Staff Engagement Department (SED) last September, gathering the strength from the Group's Learning & Development, Administration and Talent Management Departments to provide a one-stop shop service to our internal VIP customers.

CTI's Director of Talent Management, Ms. Mimi Choy said, "At CTI we treat our talent as Internal VIPs. To enhance the proactive servicing of our talent, we upgraded our "Human Resources" to "Talent Management." Our philosophy is that happy staff brings happy customers, which leads to happy shareholders. Winning this award recognizes the joint effort across the whole Staff Engagement Department."
