Chaka Khan Rocks the Waterfront

PHILADELPHIA, June 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Philadelphia's waterfront is attracting more and more attention. The appearance of Chaka Khan this summer will only add to its reputation as a top waterfront entertainment venue. On Saturday, June 30, the legendary and dynamic R&B diva, Chaka Khan, will dazzle audiences at Penn's Landing along the Delaware River with her solid gold hits: 'I'm Every Woman', 'Do You Love What You Feel', 'I Feel for You,' 'Sweet Thing', 'Tell Me Something Good.' Khan has a string of Grammy Awards dating back to 1974 through her most recent 2003 award for Best R&B Traditional Vocal and receipt of the BET Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.

 Waterfront Concert
 June 30, 6:30pm, Fireworks 9:30pm
 Great Plaza at Penn's Landing

Chaka Khan is the concert headliner but this R&B concert will keep fans rocking from beginning to end as the husband wife team of Chante Moore and Kenny Lattimore thrill audiences with their sensuous love songs. Uncovered/Covered, their most recent CD released in fall of last year is a best seller. Both Chante and Kenny are popular soul music artists in their own right but have created a magical duo that sends a message about the value of strong relationships and a loving marriage. They have demonstrated their musical chemistry with remakes of classic love songs like "Is it Still Good To You" (Ashford and Simpson), "You're All I Need to Get By" (Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell), "Make it Last Forever" (Keith Sweat). Their commitment to marriage is clear in their Invitation 2 Love Again, a series of marriage conferences they hosted in May 2007.

While there will be lots of sparks on-stage, the R&B waterfront concert ends with a fantastic fireworks show over the Delaware River. This concert is just one of the many ways Philadelphians will celebrate freedom this year at the Sunoco Welcome America! Festival. For more information, please visit www.americasbirthday.com
