British Airways' Texas Flights Move to Heathrow in March 2008

DFW Passengers and Cargo to Fly to Heathrow for the First Time

DALLAS and FT. WORTH, Texas, June 27, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- British Airways will move its Dallas/Ft. Worth originating flights to London Heathrow from London Gatwick, beginning March 30, 2008, when the EU/US "Open Skies" aviation agreement takes effect.

In addition to the daily flight from Dallas/Ft. Worth, there also will be two flights each day to Heathrow from Houston's Intercontinental Airport, all of which will be operated by British Airways' Boeing 777s.

British Airways' executive vice president for the Americas, Robin Hayes, said: "Open Skies permits us to fly non-stop from Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston to Heathrow for the first time, and we are especially delighted to welcome Dallas/Ft. Worth travelers to Heathrow for the very first time in British Airways' history.

"While these routes have been well served from Gatwick, moving to Heathrow makes it easier for our customers to transfer onto our global network, via our new home at Terminal 5. And the state-of-the-art Terminal 5 will be capable of handling 30 million customers a year, offering an unrivalled airport experience with a wide range of dining, shopping and relaxation options."

Jeff Fegan, Chief Executive Officer of DFW Airport, stated: "We applaud British Airways for taking this initiative and making DFW the first U.S. airport to gain new London Heathrow access under the open skies agreement. Our passengers will now have great service to London Heathrow, and the opportunities to easily travel from DFW to Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India are greatly enhanced."

British Airways flies to the U.K. from 19 cities in the U.S. with more than 280 return flights each week. The airline currently flies from Houston to Heathrow via Detroit along with its two daily non-stop services to London Gatwick.
