Now Flying to Florida From Six Destinations in the Empire State

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 27, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU) is making it a breeze for Western New Yorkers to jet off to the sun and sand of South Florida with the launch of new daily nonstop service between Buffalo and Fort Lauderdale beginning November 1. The low-cost, high-frills airline will serve the snowbird route year-round, providing Buffalo with even more affordable fares and the region's only nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale.

From Buffalo, JetBlue also flies ten times daily to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and three times daily to Boston's Logan International Airport. From Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, JetBlue flies to ten destinations across the United States, including five in the Empire State. JetBlue offers more service between New York and Florida than any other airline.

"Seven years ago, JetBlue's first-ever flight touched down in Buffalo, bringing low fares and high quality to an overpriced and underserved market," said Dave Barger, JetBlue's President and CEO. "Western New Yorkers responded by embracing JetBlue's unique brand of service and our friendly crewmembers. Our customers have asked for nonstop service, and we are pleased to offer it."

"Today's news is a grand slam for both JetBlue and Buffalo," said Senator Charles E. Schumer. "Buffalo residents will no longer be inconvenienced by long layovers and astronomical ticket prices to reach Ft. Lauderdale. JetBlue has stepped up to the plate to make efficient and affordable air service a reality for travelers in Buffalo, and local residents have once again proven a basic law of economics: when you offer top-shelf service at an affordable price, people scoop it up."

"This is great news from JetBlue, creating even more flight options to and from Western New York," said Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. "This will be good for tourists and business travelers alike. I am very pleased that JetBlue continues to increase service in New York."

"This is an exciting announcement coming from a great company," said Rep. Louise M. Slaughter. "JetBlue is a terrific member of our Western New York community, and I am pleased they are adding new flights to Fort Lauderdale. Ten years ago, Buffalo had the second most expensive airfares in the nation. But because of our efforts to secure low-cost airlines like JetBlue, our city's airport now ranks among the top five least expensive to fly from in the country. Today's great news is a testament to this airline's continuous efforts to expand service. I look forward to offering JetBlue my continued support as it expands its reach to Fort Lauderdale and beyond."

"JetBlue continues to believe in Buffalo and its investments and expansions here translate into fantastic new, low-cost opportunities for Western New York travelers," said Congressman Brian Higgins, a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which oversees FAA regulations.

"The expansion of JetBlue's service from Buffalo by including this new nonstop flight to Fort Lauderdale is another indication of the strength of our market and JetBlue's continuing commitment to providing excellent air service to the residents of our region," said Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown.

"We are positively ecstatic about JetBlue starting nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale from Buffalo," said Gregory Stamm, chairman of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. "This is exactly the type of new destination that will attract passengers from around the region and provide impetus for continued economic growth for the airport and the community."
