Borlänge, June 28, 2007 - Stefan Enbom is new head of Slab production at the
Strip Division at SSAB Swedish Steel.

Stefan Enbom has been appointed as the new head of operations for slab
production within the Strip Division. Stefan will take up his position on
Monday, August 13.

Stefan Enbom, aged 45, was recruited as chief financial officer for SSAB
Tunnplåt in Luleå in 1994. For the past two years, he has been the chief
financial officer of the Strip Division.

- “It is good to know that Stefan Enbom has chosen to assume responsibility for
our production in Luleå after many years within finance and administration,”
says Göran Carlsson, Head of the Strip Division. “He will face the major
challenge of increasing production while at the same time managing to deliver an
increased proportion of our core niche products.

- Stefan Enbom's known leadership qualities will also stand him in good stead in
his new work,” says Göran Carlsson.

Stefan succeeds Ragnar Alatalo, who is retiring after 18 years with the company.

- “I wish to thank Ragnar Alatalo for his sterling work on behalf of SSAB. He
had been, largely speaking, been head of all heavy sectors in Luleå ─ the steel
mill, coking plant and blast furnace ─ before becoming head of operations. He
has played a major role in achieving the world class metallurgy that we have in
Luleå today,” says Göran Carlsson.
