RAISIO CONSIDERS CLOSING DOWN THE MILL IN NOKIA

Raisio plc Stock exchange release 29 June 2007, 9:00 a.m.

Raisio has 29.6.2007 invited representatives of personnel groups to
co-determination talks that will focus on ways to adjust the production of Melia
Oy's units in Nokia in line with the changing market situation. The measures
include a possible closedown of the mill. The talks will begin on 4th July 2007
and are expected to continue at least until September 2007.

Raisio's CEO Matti Rihko says: “At the beginning of the year Raisio announced it
had initiated assessments of all of its units, focusing especially on
overcapacity. This work proceeds in stages, and insofar as volumes and prices
cannot be raised to a reasonable level of profitability, we must adjust
capacity. Since the Nokia mill has made deliveries to only a few customers, the
steep price increase in grain raw material must be transferred to the prices of
all of the mill's customers if we wish to continue operations.”

Raisio's plant in Nokia has mills for wheat, oat and rye. The plant has 70
employees.
