Aftermarket Technology Corp. Names Rick Stanley President, ATC Drivetrain

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., July 9, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Aftermarket Technology Corp. (Nasdaq:ATAC), today named Rick Stanley as President of its Drivetrain Group. Rick Stanley will lead ATC's Drivetrain business to the Company's strategic plan growth with light-duty automotive customers, medium- and heavy-duty industry customers and for those customers adopting the NuVinci CVP technology.

"We see continued opportunities to grow sales of our remanufactured drivetrain products across both our existing and potential customer bases. We expect Rick to capitalize on his experience to expand our global presence across the diversified markets we are pursuing for both our remanufactured products and new products, including innovative technology such as the NuVinci CVP," said Don Johnson, Chairman, President and CEO.

Rick Stanley, who will report directly to Don Johnson, has 29 years of relevant operational experience with international organizations serving both the light- and medium/heavy-duty vehicle markets. Most recently, Stanley was President of Remy Inc., the largest division of Remy International (formerly Delco Remy International), a global manufacturer of starters and alternators for automotive OEMs and the aftermarket, and the heavy- duty/industrial OE market and aftermarket. Rick Stanley grew the division from $500 million to nearly $800 million in an eight-year span primarily through organic growth via new products and business expansion with both existing and new customers, with acquisitions as well. Earlier in his career, Stanley worked for the Delco Remy Division of General Motors Corporation.

"Rick has a track record for growing businesses by diversifying the customer base and product portfolio and successfully improving both top and bottom line performance. He has extensive international experience spanning Latin America, Europe and Asia. He has had direct management responsibility for diverse functional areas such as operations, supply chain, finance, lean manufacturing/quality, product engineering, and sales and marketing. Rick's appointment is further evidence of our commitment to achieve the goals and objectives in our strategic plan," Don Johnson concluded.
