Bio Graphix Hits the Mainstream

SEATTLE, Wash., July 9, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- July is a big month for The BIG Print and Bio Graphix. The BIG Print just completed the manufacturing of close to 100,000 sq. feet of material for the Live Earth Concert series produced by Al Gore and Kevin Wall (July 7, 2007). Working closely with Live Earth and Ignition, The BIG Print produced sustainable graphics for both NYC Giants stadium and London's Wembley Stadium. The two stadiums were completely rebranded and rewrapped for the one night concert series that focused on making positive changes for the environment.

With the Live Earth concerts demanding sustainable solutions for their Green Guidelines, The BIG Print got to play up their strengths and 'reduce, reuse and recycle.' Al Gore's team demanded something different and asked us all to wake up. The BIG Print answered their wake-up call and delivered the sustainable solution, Bio Graphix.

Bio Graphix offers printing solutions, shipping solutions, and reuse solutions.

Printing Solutions: BioVu(tm) inks were used on all banner signage. BioVu meets OSHA regulations because there are no harmful VOCs or emissions and are made 85% from corn. Banner materials used are biodegradable and made VOC-free. A decision was made to use cardboard because of its lighter weight as compared to traditional rigid substrates that have a higher density and greater height.

Shipping Solutions: The BIG Print saved on freight emissions and made all temporary signage recyclable. To transport rolled banners to the Live Earth locations, scrap vinyl was given a second use by making shipping sacks, avoiding new shipping materials and reusing available resources.

Reuse Solution: Using our BIG Program (Beyond Intended Graphix), after the event we arranged for all the banner materials to be averted from landfills and turned into base material for production of commercial goods.

"This is a short-term campaign, and one that is focused around using sustainable materials when available. Bio Graphix was a perfect fit; we used many different materials that were biodegradable, recyclable and/or post-consumer. These were large outdoor venues with very tight timelines yet our team was able to produce the graphics and deliver them to the client in NYC and London with days to spare," said Jonathan Zinsmeyer, CEO & Founder The BIG Print LLC.

In July, The BIG Print will be spotlighted in The Discovery Channel's "Really BIG Things" program. The show, starring Matt Rogers, will air for the entire year and will be re-broadcast for up to 2 years. The episode is due to air as soon as July 14th and will demonstrate how The BIG Print produces grand format outdoor Bio Graphix. The show will then show a building where the graphics are installed, showing the entire process from design, through production, to final installation (in only 1 day!)

"The Discovery Channel segment is huge for us; it really helps to explain to the mainstream public how Bio Graphix can make a difference in outdoor, event and arena signage. We cannot thank Pilgram Productions and The Discovery Channel enough for this opportunity," said Jonathan Zinsmeyer, CEO & Founder The BIG Print LLC.

Bio Graphix materials are only available from the BIG Print and can be used for out-of-home media, arena, retail, trade show and display graphics. As a member of the Chicago Climate exchange, The BIG Print has taken significant steps to be the most sustainable graphics provider in the world. With a full line of interior and exterior graphic materials on multiple Bio Graphix machines, The BIG Print is the leader in sustainable graphics that take into consideration the entire life cycle of the pieces.

Demand something different and you, just like Al Gore and his Live Earth team, will arrive at Bio Graphix.
