Don't Tell Anybody -- Author Breaks His Silence: 'Sexual Predator Beware!'

JACKSON, Mich., July 10, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- A child who was victimized sexually since he was a toddler until he was twelve years old finally breaks his silence. Join him on his journey to defeat the demons of sexual molestation in the explosive autobiographical book Don't Tell Anybody by author Joseph T. Halsey.

This book was written to expose the sexual abuse inflicted upon the author as well as other members of his family by their uncle. Don't Tell Anybody gives Halsey's account on how he managed to cope with the abuses and ultimately how and why he made the choice to stop suffering and break the silence. With this revelation, the author hopes to impart a powerful message of soulful triumph and hope to other victims who are struggling to find peace and resolve the sexual abuse from the past.

This book will empower victims, educate parents, and give society a more comprehensive understanding of the aftermath of sexual abuse and its ripple effect on the victim. It challenges and encourages victims of sex crimes like the author, to stop living in shame and fear, to start fighting back against the sexual predators in their lives. Parents will also learn a lot about the warning signs to look for in their children that could have been abused, or about to be. In reading this, teenagers will gain insightful information and be more aware of the seemingly "normal" behavior of a pedophile.

About the Author

Deprived of a normal childhood, Halsey was plagued with tormenting memories of his experiences as a boy. Being the youngest of five siblings, coming from a poor family, and suffering a devastating injury to his right ear at the age of a year and a half, more damage was still to come from a deranged and perverted uncle. As a result of all the abuses dealt out to him, he has spent nearly twenty years seeing psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers.

For ten years, Halsey was repeatedly molested. When the abuse finally stopped at the age of twelve, as the title to his book implies Halsey never told anybody. He was racked with shame and the unfounded guilt that only a victim could understand. He attempted suicide at the age of sixteen by swallowing over sixty Tylenol 3's with Codine. Upon his release from the mental hospital, his life went on as usual. He later got in to a relationship in his early twenties, but it failed due to his alcohol use at the time. He drank to suppress his memories and to control the increasing nightmares he was experiencing, and he had a nervous break down at the age of twenty-three.

It was not until this time that Halsey realized what was driving him to drink. It was at this time he was diagnosed with "Post Traumatic Depression Disorder". Coming to this realization, Halsey under the supervision of his oldest sister, made a phone call to his uncle, (the one responsible for his suffering) that would start him on his quest for justice.
