Saxo Bank CEOs Receive Prestigious Achievement Award

GENTOFTE, Denmark, July 11, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Lars Seier Christensen and Kim Fournais, co-founders and co-CEOs of Saxo Bank, the Danish investment bank, took home the coveted Achievement award at the 4th annual e-FX Awards, sponsored by FX Week Magazine in New York.

Presented with the news of the award, Saxo Bank's co-CEOs Lars Seier Christensen and Kim Fournais issued a joint statement: "Needless to say, we are extremely honoured to receive this award given by a jury composed by some of the most insightful people in our industry. We were proud just to be short-listed in this category. That, in our view, was an achievement in its own right. We want to share this award with the more than 1,000 passionate employees in Saxo Bank. All these brilliant people work hard and invest all their intellectual strength in fulfilling our goal of being the best in the FX and derivates market. Without them, we would not have been standing here as winners of this award."

The Achievement award is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the success of the e-FX industry. According to the jury's motivation for the award, Kim Fournais and Lars Seier Christensen received the Achievement award because they "took a leap of faith by entering the FX retail investor community and showing how success can be achieved in the age of the Internet and online trading. Hereby they and Saxo Bank set a trend for the entire FX industry. Now most mainstream banks follow their lead and the success of Saxo Bank. That is an achievement FX Week wants to recognize."

Saxo Bank scores hat-trick as Best retail platform For Saxo Bank, this worldwide industry recognition marks a crowning moment of a growing number of nominations and wins since entering the awards field in 2003. Besides the recognitions of its two founders Saxo Bank won the Best retail platform award for the third year in a row.

Saxo Bank recently published a four year strategy plan setting ambitious goals for the bank's further growth. The bank's founders have strong faith in the growth in on-line trading and the bank's scalability to reach this goal.

"We founded the company back in 1992 and soon realised the potential of the Internet which led to the launch of our first online trading platform in 1996. For better or worse, we were well ahead of our time," Lars Christensen and Kim Fournais, said in their statement. "Despite the bursting of the dot-com bubble, everybody in the company remained firm in their belief in online trading. Today, our conviction has been confirmed by Saxo Bank's huge success and with these prominent awards. We are truly grateful."
