Semcon receives major order from BMW

Semcon/IVM Automotive have received a major order from BMW. The order covers
engineering, prototyping and production of a car project.

“It's very pleasing to win this order that confirms Semcon/IVM as one of BMW's
strategic partners” says Stefan Ohlsson, Senior Vice President Semcon Automotive
R&D. “We are also honored to have been assigned an order of such magnitude from
the leading premium automotive manufacturer. It matches our strategic objective
of becoming market leader in engineering services.”
Performance vehicles and motor sport
Through this project Semcon increases its activities in the field of performance
vehicles and motor sports. “The project is an ideal platform for us to
demonstrate our engineering skills as well as our craftsmanship expertise,” says
Stefan Ohlsson. 

Growth
The European Automotive market is currently growing with approximately 10
percent annually. 
“Overall we have a very good order intake in Germany and we see great
possibilities of future growth. We need to recruit and are currently looking to
hire 200-300 people,” concludes Stefan Ohlsson.
