NCC to construct cargo train viaduct in Gothenburg for SEK 263 million NCC Construction Sweden has been awarded the contract to construct a cargo-train viaduct in Gothenburg on a turnkey basis. The client is the Swedish Railway Administration's Investment division and the order is worth SEK 263 million. The viaduct will replace an existing bridge that extends over Västra Hamnbanan and the E20 highway. The project comprises a 640-meter-long bridge, of which 130 meters will be constructed of steel and the remainder of concrete. One of the major challenges involved is that this project will be implemented in an environment characterized by highly intensive traffic. Construction will commence during the autumn of 2007 and the works are scheduled for completion on March 15, 2010. Contracts cannot be signed until the customary appeals period has expired.
