Last week Rahva Raamat, the company fully owned by Ekspress Group, celebrated the grand opening of its newly extended bookstore on the fourth storey of Viru Keskus in the very heart of Tallinn. The largest in the Baltic States, the bookstore doubled its space and spans now two storeys, with a total of 1700 m2 of sales space. In the first week the enlargement enabled to increase the sales by 131% compared to the same period last year. “The expansion idea was enthusiastically supported by our customers,” said Gertti Kogermann, Chairman of the Board of Rahva Raamat. “We also wished to widen our product range. With the opening of the store on the fourth storey our customers will enjoy a much wider selection of books in Estonian and foreign languages, and the volume of literature in Russian has doubled. We look forward to welcoming not only those who prefer reading, but those who are interested in films and music, too, because on the fourth floor we are offering an extensive choice of good films and quality music, with recommendations shared by leading opinion-makers in the respective fields.” “In addition to the best selection of books in Estonia, the bookstore has two cafes and is thus an excellent place to meet friends and spend some free time,” Kogermann added. “The cafe on the fourth floor is called Boulangerie. The store also has a special corner with a stage for new book presentations, press conferences and other events. This Rahva Raamat is no longer a mere bookstore, but a place where you can just as easily choose an interesting film or work of music, and find the perfect gift.“ Rahva Raamat AS (www.rahvaraamat.ee) is the largest book retail and wholesale trade company in Estonia. Rahva Raamat is a 100% subsidiary of Ekspress Group. Rahva Raamat AS currently has two bookstores in Tallinn: the largest bookstore in the Baltic States in the Viru Keskus shopping centre, and the oldest bookstore in Estonia on Pärnu mnt., as well as a representative store in Viljandi and the online store www.rahvaraamat.ee. Rahva Raamat provides books not only to its own stores, but also to the Selver, Prisma and Rimi retail chains, as well as libraries and other bookstores all over Estonia.
