Entropic Communications Adds VP of RF Engineering to Management Team


SAN DIEGO, July 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Entropic Communications, Inc., a leading technology solutions provider for connected home entertainment, today announced that Charles Persico has joined the company as its vice president of RF engineering. Charles was formerly the senior vice president of engineering at Qualcomm, leading RF/Analog IC design, product and test in Qualcomm's CDMA technology division. In his new role at Entropic, Charles will lead the development of the company's RF engineering capabilities, including RF system and RF integrated circuit functions.

Charles has over 22 years of engineering experience. At Qualcomm, Charles built the RF engineering team from one to over 350 engineers and led the team to become the number one RFIC supplier worldwide, shipping over 750 million RF/Analog ICs annually and generating annual revenue in excess of one billion dollars. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Charles held a variety of engineering roles at leading technology companies including Philips Semiconductors, Trimble Navigation, AT&E, Honeywell Space Systems and General Electric Avionics systems.

Charles earned his M.S. in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in electrical engineering from Union College.
