Robert Badavas Joins Airvana's Board of Directors

TAC Worldwide President and CEO Brings Expertise in Management and Strategy


CHELMSFORD, Mass., July 17, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Airvana, Inc., a leading provider of network infrastructure products used by wireless carriers to provide mobile broadband services, today announced that Robert Badavas has joined its board of directors.

Badavas has more than 20 years of executive experience spanning technology, venture capital, and business services. He is currently president and CEO of TAC Worldwide Companies, in charge of all North American and European operations. He started with TAC in 2003 as executive vice president and CFO, and was responsible for overall supervision and leadership of finance, treasury, corporate development and information systems.

Prior to joining TAC Worldwide Badavas held several executive-level positions, including COO of Atlas Venture, a $2+ billion venture capital firm headquartered in Boston; CEO of Cerulean Technology, a wireless application software company that was sold to Aether Systems in 2000; and CFO of Chipcom, where he played an important role in the company's successful IPO and subsequent sale to 3Com Corporation.

Badavas who spent the first 9 years of his career in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston, has a BS in accounting, with high honors, from Bentley College where he currently serves as a Trustee. He has previously served as a director of Renaissance Worldwide, a prominent U.S. consulting, solutions and staffing company, and of RSA Security Corporation, now part of EMC Corporation. He also serves as chairman of the board of directors for the Learning Center for Deaf Children in Framingham, Mass. In 2003, he was selected as a recipient of the Ellis Island National Medal of Honor.
