MELBOURNE, Fla., July 18, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) KC-30 Tanker team announced today that Knight Aerospace Products, Inc., San Antonio, Texas, has joined the KC-30 Tanker industry team.

Knight Aerospace will provide palletized passenger seats for the KC-30 Tanker's passenger and troop carrying capability. The roll-on-roll-off palletized seats will allow U.S. Air Force airmen to quickly reconfigure the KC-30 to meet a variety of mission requirements when the tanker is used in a transport role.

"We're proud to welcome Knight Aerospace to the KC-30 industry team," said Paul Meyer, Northrop Grumman vice president and general manager of the KC-30 Tanker program. "Knight Aerospace is the best in their field so it's only appropriate that they've joined the team that's offering the most capable tanker available."

Knight Aerospace's recent expansion in the San Antonio area includes a 41,500 square-foot manufacturing and administration facility. The KC-30 Tanker program will create and support 40 aerospace jobs at Knight Aerospace's San Antonio location.

"We're extremely pleased to be a part of the KC-30 Tanker program," said Alfred Knight, founder and president of Knight Aerospace. "There's no bigger honor for us than producing a superior, American-made passenger system for our armed forces. They deserve the very best and we stand ready to deliver."

Business activities of Knight Aerospace include the design, manufacture and installation of commercial and military aircraft interiors, palletized passenger interiors and VIP-Staff module conversions for cargo aircraft, aircraft ground support equipment, and mobile engine test stands.

About the KC-30: Northrop Grumman's KC-30 Tanker carries 45,000 more pounds of fuel than a KC-135 or any competitor, providing a significant boost to the U.S. Air Force's global reach. The KC-30 incorporates defense systems, precision fly-by-wire technology, and the ability to integrate a communications suite and a global support network.

The KC-30 will be assembled in Mobile, Ala., and create or support more than 25,000 U.S. jobs. It will be built by a world-class industrial team led by Northrop Grumman, and includes EADS North America, General Electric Aviation and Sargent Fletcher.
