Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd handles nearly 7 mln tons of crude oil and petroleum products in six months

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd, the subsidiary of the joint stock company
Ventspils nafta, has handled nearly 7 mln tons of crude oil and petroleum
products in the first six months of 2007. Transshipment amount showed a
tendency for increase in June, as well. From January to June 2007, Ventspils
nafta termināls Ltd handled more than 6.7 mln tons of crude oil and petroleum
products delivered to the terminal by rail, diesel pipeline and sea, which is
by 3.6 mln tons more than in a corresponding period a year ago. 

In the first six months of 2007, 4.7 mln tons of diesel delivered to Ventspils
nafta termināls Ltd by railway and through the pipeline and 1.1 mln tons of
motor gasoline of different grades transported by rail, as well as 0.9 mln tons
of crude oil and petroleum products delivered to the terminal by sea were
transshipped there. 

In June this year, Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd handled 1.3 mln tons of crude
oil and petroleum products: 0.8 mln tons of diesel and 0.2 mln tons of gasoline
delivered by rail, as well as almost 0.3 mln tons of crude oil and petroleum
products which is this year's biggest cargo amount transported by sea. Oil (0.2
mln tons) accounts for the highest proportion of the total cargo amount
delivered by sea in June. 

Cargo amount in Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is increasing since January, 2007
starting receiving of diesel through petroleum products pipeline and promoting
cooperation with the international oil transport and trading consortium Vitol
Group being a shareholder of JSC Ventspils nafta and co-owner of Ventspils
nafta termināls Ltd. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta. 51% of it
belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta while 49% to Vitol's company Euromin Holdings
Cyprus Limited. The terminal renders transit services - receiving of oil and
diesel through pipelines as well as receiving of oil, diesel, motor gasoline
and other petroleum products by rail and sea, their storage and transshipment. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is the largest of such companies in the region,
and its crude oil and petroleum products shore-tank farm reaches 1.2 million
cubic metres and has no analogues among similar companies in the nearest
countries.
