For high performance and massive storage expansion, the RAID heads feature a 4Gigabit Fibre Channel (4G-FC) host interface that doubles bandwidth over the previous 2G-FC interface and they support up to 272 drives across multiple expansion channels. Users have the flexibility to choose high-performance 4G-FC SBOD (Switched Bunch of Disks) expansion using dual FC loops and cost-efficient Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) expansion via the systems' two SAS SFF-8470 wide ports.
