Greater Dallas Chamber Conducts Closing Bell Ceremony At the Nasdaq Stock Market

DTEC: The NASDAQ/Greater Dallas Chamber Index

DALLAS, Aug. 2, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- On August 23, 2007 at 4 PM (EDT) the Greater Dallas Chamber and top DFW companies will be recognized in New York City. More than 30 local executives will attend the Closing Bell Ceremony for the NASDAQ Stock Market at its Marketsite in Times Square. These executives include C-level representatives from leading DFW companies involved with the Chamber's Technology Business Council and the NASDAQ/Greater Dallas Chamber Index (DTEC). The Closing Bell Ceremony celebrates the Index's accomplishments and promotes the technology and life science expertise in the region. The Chamber's logo, along with images of DFW, will be promoted in lights throughout Times Square. A live feed will be available. For a complete press kit go to http://www.dtecatnasdaq.org/.

Executives are invited to stay for a post-Ceremony cocktail reception hosted at the MarketSite. This unique opportunity is made possible through the Chamber's partnership on the index project with NASDAQ and USI Southwest and the sponsorship of Wyndham Jade.

This is the second year representatives from the companies listed on the index are invited to New York for the Closing Bell. Last year, executives from i2 Technologies, Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., Perot Systems, Texas Instruments, and AT&T officially closed the market.

"Helping build national awareness of the Greater Dallas Chamber's DTEC listing through the NASDAQ Closing Bell ceremony was an honor. We look forward to continued expansion of our North Texas technology sector and the launch of our private company index," said LeAnn Priebe, chair of the TBC and central region president AT&T (formerly Cingular Wireless).

Members of the media are invited to attend but need to RSVP with Jo Trizila at 214-746-6690 or jtrizila@dallaschamber.org.

The NASDAQ/Greater Dallas Chamber Index is a one-of-a-kind regional technology and life science index. This index, which went live on January 12, 2006, tracks the performance of publicly held technology and life science companies in Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). NASDAQ assigned the ticker (DTEC) to the Index and its status can be viewed on the NASDAQ website, www.nasdaq.com, and on the Technology Business Council website, www.DallasTBC.org. TBC partners with NASDAQ and USI Southwest on this project to highlight these outstanding companies in the DFW region and to promote technology innovation and expertise here in the area.

Companies eligible for the index include: Public companies listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market, New York Stock Exchange or American Stock Exchange with U.S. headquarters located within the 12 county DFW metropolitan area that are classified in the technology industries, as defined by either the American Electronics Association or BIO (using NAICS or SIC codes), and have intellectual property (IP) as a core asset as declared in their 2005 SEC 10k statements.

Subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies with their primary U.S. location in DFW and meeting all other requirements are also eligible. Subsidiaries of U.S. companies, however, were excluded.

The index currently has 32 public companies listed on it and is updated every 15 seconds by NASDAQ.
