Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd handles nearly 8 mln tons of cargo in seven months

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd, the subsidiary of the joint stock company
Ventspils nafta, has handled 7.96 mln tons of crude oil and petroleum products
in the seven months of 2007, which is by 4.4 mln tons more than in a
corresponding period in 2006. Crude oil and petroleum products are delivered to
Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd by rail, diesel pipeline and sea. 

From January to July 2007 the highest proportion in the structure of the
transshipment amount of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd makes diesel delivered by
rail and pipeline total amount of which has come in this period to 5.7 mln
tons. In the seven months of this year 1.2 mln tons of motor gasoline delivered
to the terminal by rail, as well as 1.0 mln tons of crude oil and petroleum
products delivered to the terminal by sea were transshipped there. Crude oil
accounts for the highest proportion of the total cargo amount delivered to the
terminal by sea - more than 0.6 mln tons. 

In July Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd handled more than 1.2 mln tons of crude
oil and petroleum products: including 1.0 mln tons of diesel delivered by rail
and diesel pipeline, as well as 0.1 mln tons of gasoline transported by rail,
and 0.1 mln tons of crude oil and petroleum products delivered to the terminal
by sea. 

Cargo amount in Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is increasing during all this
year starting receiving of diesel through petroleum products pipeline and
promoting cooperation with the international oil transport and trading
consortium Vitol Group being a shareholder of JSC Ventspils nafta and co-owner
of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta. 51% of it
belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta while 49% to Vitol's company Euromin Holdings
Cyprus Limited. The terminal renders transit services - receiving of oil and
diesel through pipelines as well as receiving of crude oil, diesel, motor
gasoline and other petroleum products by rail and sea, their storage and
transshipment. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is the largest of such companies in the region,
and its crude oil and petroleum products shore-tank farm reaches 1.2 million
cubic metres and has no analogues among similar companies in the nearest
countries.
