The bid concerns a contract to manage the LLWR and to establish an effective framework for the disposal of low level nuclear waste across the UK. The negotiations aim at awarding a contract in October 2007 with an initial period of 5 years with further extensions up to a total of 17 years. The total contract value is estimated to be in the range of GBP 200-500 million over the period, depending on final scope and duration.
