SANTA CLARA, Calif. and SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 17, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Foundry Networks(r), Inc. (Nasdaq:FDRY), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today announced that Foundry's Franchesca Walker will participate in the panel discussion, "How to Build a Voice-ready Data Network," on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 1:00 p.m. PDT at VoiceCon San Francisco 2007 in Moscone Center North, Room 123. Today's networks are providing services considered nearly impossible just a few years ago. Internet, e-mail, voice and video conferencing are just a few of the business applications that are placing higher demands upon enterprise network infrastructures. Delivering voice solutions requires more than just connectivity. Issues such as call quality, reliability, availability, security and power management are paramount in a complete voice solution. Foundry provides a complete set of switching and routing solutions that helps customers move into Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions without the difficulties and downtime of replacing their network infrastructure.

Franchesca Walker, director of Enterprise Solutions for Foundry Networks, will participate in the 1:00 p.m. PDT panel discussion on building a voice-ready network providing valuable insight into the best practices of VoIP-ready infrastructures. Ms. Walker will address specific topics regarding Quality of Service (QoS), security and mobility for voice services on an IP network. In her second presentation at 4:30 p.m. PDT, Ms. Walker will discuss Foundry's end-to-end IP infrastructure built on a wire-speed, non-blocking architecture that offers reliability, availability and security to enterprises. With Foundry products in their network, enterprises can be confident that they can deliver both legacy applications and new applications such as voice and video.

Ms. Walker has more than twenty years of product marketing and management experience in networking solutions. Prior to joining Foundry, Ms. Walker held product management, business development and quality assurance positions with Adaptive Broadband, Cisco Systems, Luminous Networks, Nortel Networks, Siemens and Telmax Communications. Ms. Walker holds a B.A. from the St. Mary's University and an M.B.A. from Belford University.
