PALMDALE, Calif., Aug. 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today visited Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) development, manufacturing and assembly facilities in Palmdale. During her visit, Sen. Feinstein toured company work sites associated with the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber; the U.S. Navy's new X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System (UCAS); the RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aerial reconnaissance system; and the F-35 Lightning II.

Sen. Feinstein addressed members of the Los Angeles and Antelope Valley press corps in front of a B-2 stealth bomber. All 21 of the B-2s in U.S. Air Force's bomber fleet were assembled at Northrop Grumman's Palmdale facility and still come there for programmed depot maintenance from their operational home at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.
