A KC-30 Tanker Win Would Support 3,800 Jobs in Tennessee

MELBOURNE, Fla., Aug. 24, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) KC-30 Tanker team will support 3,800 direct and indirect jobs throughout Tennessee if the KC-30 Tanker aircraft is selected by the U.S. Air Force. The KC-30 program will generate an additional $245 million annually in economic activity in Tennessee, bringing the team's total economic impact to $445 million annually.

Northrop Grumman and teammate EADS spend more than $200 million annually in Tennessee, and, with their KC-30 supplier network, support 1,300 workers. Northrop Grumman's current workforce in Tennessee earns nearly $20 million annually.

Vought Aircraft Industries in Nashville currently produces wing structures for the highly successful commercial A330 aircraft, which serves as the platform for the militarized KC-30 Tanker.

Northrop Grumman's KC-30 Tanker supply base in Tennessee will include:



 * Vought Aircraft Industries, Nashville, Tenn. - A330 wing structure
 * Aircraft Safety, Memphis, Tenn. - Interior smoke barriers

The KC-30 Tanker aircraft will be assembled in Mobile, Ala., and the KC-30 team will employ 25,000 American workers at 230 U.S. companies. It will be built by a world-class industrial team led by Northrop Grumman, and includes EADS North America, General Electric Aviation and Sargent Fletcher.
