Superconductor Technologies in Negotiation to Enter Joint Venture With Hunchun BaoLi Communications

Expanding Reach to Asia by Adding Manufacturing and Marketing in China


SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Aug. 27, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Superconductor Technologies Inc. (STI) (Nasdaq:SCON), a leading provider of high performance infrastructure products for wireless voice and data applications, announced it is in negotiation to form a joint venture with Hunchun BaoLi Communication Co. Ltd. (BAOLI), which manufactures push-to-talk (PTT) handsets and the associated battery technology for the China market. The proposed joint venture would focus primarily on the manufacturing and marketing of STI's SuperLink interference elimination solution for the Chinese market.
