Dout Joins School Specialty's Board of Directors


GREENVILLE, Wis., Aug. 29, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- School Specialty (Nasdaq:SCHS), a leading education company providing supplemental learning products to the preK-12 market, today announced that A. Jacqueline Dout has been elected to its Board of Directors, effective at the corporation's annual meeting of shareholders held today at Kohler, WI. Dout, 52, is Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Pella Corporation, Pella, IA.

Before joining Pella as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2002, Ms. Dout was President of JJB Enterprises, Inc., Rochester Hills, MI, a strategic and financial consulting firm. From 1994 to 1998 she was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Champion Enterprises, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI, and prior to that was Vice President and Treasurer for IMCERA Group, Inc., Northbrook, IL.

Two directors were also re-elected to the School Specialty Board. Serving additional three-year terms are Lay, 59, retired Chairman of VF Corporation's International Jeanswear Coalition; and Herbert A. Trucksess, III, 58, Chairman of Saia, Inc. Lay will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board.
