- Highest number of passengers in one month in the history of Icelandair

Icelandair carried over 218 thousand passengers on scheduled flights in July. 
This is the highest number of passengers that Icelandair has carried in one
month in its seventy year history.  Number of passengers grew by 5% from July
2006, being 207 thousand at that time.  Available seats at Icelandair in July
measured in seat kilometers was increased by 5% from last year and the load
factor in the month was 82,5% 

In the first seven months of the year 2007, the number of passengers at
Icelandair grew by 3% from last year and was 910 thousand.  The load factor for
this period was 74,5% and decreased by 3,0 percentage points between years.  We
increased our capacity-availability considerably this summer, added new
destinations and started morning flight from Iceland to the United States for
the first time” says Jón Karl Ólafsson the CEO of Icelandair.  We are seeing
more passengers than ever before, and considerable increase of passengers from
Iceland and to Iceland, however a decrease on the via market, between the US
and Europe with a stopover in Iceland” says Jón Karl.
