The Financial Supervisory Authority has approved Straumur-Burdaras Investment Bank's (“Straumur's”) acquisition of a 50% stake in the Czech investment house Wood & Company. In June 2007 Straumur acquired a 50% share in Wood, as well as an option to purchase the remaining shares no later than 2011. The purchase is subject to, inter alia, the approval of the Central Bank of the Czech Republic. Wood & Company is a leading investment house in Central and Eastern Europe. It offers a full range of securities trading, investment banking services, and corporate finance services. About Straumur Straumur is the largest investment bank in Iceland.
