A KC-30 Tanker Team Would Support 3,400 Jobs Statewide

MELBOURNE, Fla., Sept. 6, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) KC-30 Tanker team will generate economic activity and create 1,500 jobs in North Carolina if the KC-30 Tanker aircraft is selected by the U.S. Air Force. Northrop Grumman, EADS and the KC-30 supply chain in North Carolina currently support 3,400 jobs statewide and generate combined economic activity of $350 million annually.

Northrop Grumman and teammate EADS spend more than $130 million annually in North Carolina, while KC-30 supplier companies inject $220 million in the economy each year. Northrop Grumman's current workforce in North Carolina earns more than $29 million annually.

Northrop Grumman's KC-30 Tanker supply base in North Carolina will include:



 -- Alvac, Monroe, N.C. - Titanium
 -- Cincinnati Thermal Spray, Rocky Point, N.C. - CF6 engine
    sub-assemblies
 -- GE Shop-Assembly, Durham, N.C. - CF6 engine sub-assemblies
 -- GE Shop-Disks, Wilmington, N.C. - CF6 engine sub-assemblies
 -- Goodrich Corporation, Charlotte, N.C. - computer systems
 -- AAR Corporation, Goldsboro, N.C. - advanced cargo loading system

The KC-30 Tanker aircraft will be assembled in Mobile, Ala., and the KC-30 team will employ 25,000 American workers at 230 U.S. companies. It will be built by a world-class industrial team led by Northrop Grumman, and includes EADS North America, General Electric Aviation and Sargent Fletcher.
