Sheffield Resources Ltd. (TSX-V:SLD) has been enjoying the results from their drilling at the Moonlight copper project in Northern California. Drilling at the Engels Mine area returned intersections including 37.8 metres of 3.71% copper, and 54 m of 2.95% copper. Sheffield is looking at the potential to get their oxide copper resource into early production, while they work to define the size and grade of the underlying porphyry. A preliminary economic assessment of the project's production viability should be completed this winter. First Majestic Silver Corp. (TSX-V:FR) announced their second quarter results last week, showing their silver production at their La Parrilla mine is up 259% over last year. Their San Martin and La Encantada mines, purchased late in 2006, now contribute significantly, too. First Majestic has 11 drill rigs operating towards the upgrading and defining resources for upcoming NI 43-101 reports on each of the operations to be published prior to year-end. International Montoro Resources Inc. (TSX-V:IMT) is beginning to drill their Serpent River properties in the Eliot Lake uranium camp. There's quartz-pebble conglomerate hosted uranium mineralization on their claims, which is what Rio Algom mined nearby for many years. However, Montoro's consultants believe higher-grade uranium mineralization could lie below the stratigraphic horizon hosting the known uranium deposits of the Elliot Lake area, within the basement rocks. Helping validate the concept, exploration neighbor Pele Mountain Resources has reported finding high-grade uranium below their known resource.
