BOCA RATON, Fla., Sept. 12, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- In its first-ever listing of the top 100 independent financial advisors in the U.S., Barron's August 27 issue singled out Ron Weiner, CFP(r), President and CEO of RDM Financial Group, with offices in Boca Raton, for a profile and a listing as one of the top advisors in the industry.

This is the third time Weiner has been so recognized. Prior listings included Weiner as one of the top 100 brokers in America. This is the first year the magazine listed independent financial advisors who, it reported, are gaining prominence over brokers, money managers and private bankers. Weiner was among only three to have made both lists.
In the magazine's cover story, "Independent financial advisors are on the rise. Meet the top players," Barron's writer Suzanne McGee wrote that independents have built their businesses by providing clients with financial-planning services, "not just stocks and bonds." Independents have increased their assets under management by 18 percent annualized over the past 11 years while full-service brokerages increased 11 percent a year.
The magazine singled out five of the Top 100, including Weiner, for a profile. Referring to him as "the veteran," McGee noted that Weiner has been in the business for over 30 years and that he has been part of the major changes that have shaken up the financial services business. Weiner said, "When I started, it was all about brokerage and commissions. Today everyone is trying to find the best way to deliver good advice, not just to sell products."
The listing is founded on the research of financial industry consultant R.J. Shook, who created the listing based on assets in accounts overseen by the advisor, data analysis, interviews and quality of service. Nominations came from banks, custodial organizations, clearing houses, broker-dealers and other sources.
