RAUTARUUKKI RECEIVES EUROPEAN STEEL DESIGN AWARD

The European Convention for Constructional Steelwork in Brussels has awarded
the Kamppi Centre in Helsinki a European Steel Design Award for innovative use
of steel structures. Ruukki received an award as supplier of the above-ground
steel structures to the Kamppi Centre.

Ruukki was involved in the Kamppi Centre construction project as steelwork
contractor delivering, either directly or through its partners, external wall
panels, façade cassettes and steel structures for the market deck. Because of
their lightness and industrial prefabrication, steel structures were chosen
also for the glass walls and roofs. The Kamppi Centre opened in March 2006.

Given every two years, the steel design awards were presented before an
international audience in Luxembourg today in conjunction with the Architecture
& Steel International Symposium.
