NASDAQ - LETTER OF NOTICE

New York and Stockholm - September 18, 2007 - Millicom International Cellular
S.A. (Nasdaq Stock Market: MICC and Stockholmsbörsen: MIC), the global
telecommunications company, today announced, in accordance with NASDAQ
Marketplace Rule 4803(a), that it received a letter from the NASDAQ Listing
Qualifications Department indicating that it was not in compliance with the
independent director and audit committee requirements as set forth in
Marketplace Rule 4350.

This non-compliance resulted from the vacancy on the Company's Board of
directors due to the resignation of Mr. Tope Lawani on September 3, 2007, a
Director and Audit Committee member. In its letter, NASDAQ provided the Company
a cure period until the earlier of the Company's next annual shareholders'
meeting or September 3, 2008, to regain compliance. The Company fully expects to
regain compliance prior to the expiration of the cure period.
