KMA Achieves Key Milestone in Quest for U.S. Patent Approval for DUALTag

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Sept. 20, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- KMA Global Solutions International, Inc. (OTCBB:KMAG) (Frankfurt:VVS), today announced that it has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) regarding KMA's non-provisional application for a patent on its DUALTag(tm) product. The application has been examined and is allowed for issuance as a U.S. patent. Pending payment of associated fees to the USPTO, KMA anticipates that it will be granted patent rights in the DUALTag(tm) and the protection inherent in such designation.

DUALTag(tm) is a unique source-tagging product developed by KMA, incorporating the key elements of the two most popular Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) technologies used by retail stores around the world. Manufactured through the use of a proprietary production line, DUALTag(tm) is available in a self-adhesive or a non-adhesive (insertable) format, and is capable of being applied at high speed to the inside of the packages of products such as Over the Counter (OTC) medications, Nutriceuticals and other food supplements, electronic games and accessories, computer peripherals, health and beauty aids and many other products, the DUALTag(tm) has become the source-tagging solution of choice for many products found on the shelves of chain drug, discount and grocery stores. DUALTag(tm) allows the brand owner to maintain just one version of each product in its supply chain rather than managing multiple inventories that differ only by the EAS technology for which they have been prepared.

Jeffrey D. Reid, CEO of KMA Global Solutions International, Inc., said, "This is an important step down the road of seeing more of our unique products receive the full weight of protection afforded by the issue of a product patent. Soon, DUALTag(tm) will join NEXTag, our patented sew-in apparel solution as a fully patented product available only from KMA." Mr. Reid went on to say, "We could not be more pleased with the growing popularity of DUALTag(tm) across a broadening spectrum of retail and product sectors."

In recent years, retailers have increasingly demanded retail floor ready merchandise that includes Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) protection. Under KMA's source tagging program, security tags are embedded in products or affixed to packaging at the point-of-manufacture. The company's patented NEXTag(tm), a low cost sewn-in solution, DUALTag(tm), and accessory products are used by retailers and their suppliers the world over.
