Datascope Declares Special Dividend and Regular Quarterly Dividend

MONTVALE, N.J., Sept. 21, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Datascope Corp. (Nasdaq:DSCP) announced that its Board of Directors declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per share and a special dividend of $1.00 per share, payable October 15, 2007 to stockholders of record as of October 1, 2007.

The amount of the special dividend approximates the net proceeds received by the Company from the sale of the Company's investment in Masimo Corporation following that company's initial public offering in August 2007. The Board determined that it was appropriate to pass along to the stockholders the benefits of this transaction, as the Board believes that the Company's existing cash resources (after the special dividend), projected cash flows and unused credit lines are ample to meet the Company's needs.
