ATLANTA, Sept. 24, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- As part of continued efforts to expand global access for customers, Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) will launch nonstop service between the world's largest passenger hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Stockholm's Arlanda International Airport. The new flight, operating six times weekly between Atlanta and Stockholm, will be effective June 3, 2008*. Passengers traveling from Atlanta to the capital city of Stockholm will benefit from the direct service to a host of business and leisure destinations within Sweden's largest city.

Delta's Atlanta hub is the fastest-growing international gateway in the United States, with the addition of 29 new international routes since 2005. As part of its summer 2008 schedule, Delta plans to serve more than 80 nonstop international destinations from Atlanta, including 21 of Europe's 25 largest markets.
Fifty-five Swedish businesses operate in the state of Georgia and approximately 900 U.S. companies have operations in Sweden. Delta's latest international route will open a critical economic access point on both sides of the Atlantic.

Between Atlanta and Stockholm, Delta will operate service using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft seating up to 214 passengers and featuring Delta's refurbished business and economy class service. Customers can enjoy Delta's award-winning BusinessElite service featuring all-leather sleeper seats with 60 inches of legroom, innovative food offerings designed by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein -- including award-winning, original wine selections - and industry-leading, on-demand personal in-seat entertainment boasting more than 20 first-run and popular classic movies, a variety of TV programs, a broad range of music, and a suite of 12 video games. To celebrate this latest addition to its list of trans-Atlantic destinations, Delta is offering a one-way special fare of $449 from Atlanta to Stockholm (based on a round-trip purchase), for purchase by Oct. 8, 2007, with travel completed by Aug. 3, 2008.
