CAST Signs an Important License Deal With Major European Telecom Provider

Following Significant Initial Investment in 2005 Deutsche Telekom Has Decided to Roll Out CAST to Its Entire Operations

NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- CAST Software signed a multi-million Euro license agreement with Deutsche Telekom AG to create a state-of-the-art software process in terms of transparency and quality of end product delivered by external providers. The license agreement is limited to Deutsche Telekom's fixed line telephony subsidiary operating under the brand T-Home.

This undertaking will ultimately enable Deutsche Telekom to put in place an automatic review process of its entire application portfolio. Due to CAST's level of automation, managers get immediate visibility to measure, control, and improve application internal quality and development team performance. The entire portfolio will be supported by an external team, ensuring structural quality of all application code prior to it being placed into production.

Vincent Delaroche, Chairman and CEO of CAST Software, commented: "This contract, directly resulting from the successful implementation of our platform reconfirms our ability to deploy in large organizations. It is also a very valuable reference that will allow CAST to rapidly penetrate the telecom market, and speed growth in Germany where we have only scratched the surface of the enormous potential that exists in a country that is particularly receptive to measuring quality and performance."

CAST's proven ability to work with Deutsche Telekom's outsourcers was one of the key factors motivating this deployment. CAST is quickly becoming the point of reference among systems integrators and IT management for measuring performance of development teams and quality of resulting IT systems.

The breadth of technologies covered by its Application Intelligence Platform (including SAP-ABAP and SIEBEL-Oracle), the centralized knowledge base and the automation of the overall solution were major drivers in choosing CAST for this deployment. CAST technology captures development performance metrics and enforces architecture and coding rules and best practices. Software development becomes a standardized, repeatable, and measurable process allowing companies to operate application delivery as a software factory.

This news reinforces CAST's position as the leader in Application Intelligence software. CAST's existing client base -- just over 600 companies in the U.S. and Europe -- and the current business pipeline represent a very strong foundation for future growth. Leading organizations are using Application Intelligence software to drive dramatic improvements in the maturity and performance of application development, creating new value for their business.
