Radyne's AeroAstro Awarded $1.6 Million Asset Tracking Network Infrastructure Contract

SENS Service Will Expand to Near Global Coverage


PHOENIX, Sept. 25, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Radyne Corporation (Nasdaq:RADN) announced today its AeroAstro business unit was awarded a $1.6 million contract from Globalstar, Inc. for asset tracking satellite downlink decoder racks, spares kits, and additional software upgrades for existing equipment deployed at Globalstar's ground gateways.

The equipment, known as SENS (Sensor Enabled Notification System) Appliques, will be used to expand the geographic coverage of the SENS / Globalstar Simplex Data Service in Latin America and Asia Software upgrades will increase system capacity and geographic reach in support of rising demand for satellite-based tracking and telemetry services.

The SENS Applique, an AeroAstro proprietary digital signal processing infrastructure component installed at key Globalstar ground stations, receives and decodes asset tracking and monitoring data from field transmitters via the Globalstar Low Earth Orbit satellite network. The received information is processed and distributed to users through the internet.
