OfficeMax Chooses Guidance Software's EnCase eDiscovery Suite for Its Electronic Discovery Needs

With the EnCase eDiscovery Suite, OfficeMax Aims to Reduce eDiscovery Costs and Save Time by Bringing the Electronic Data Discovery Process In-House

PASADENA, Calif., Sept. 25, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Guidance Software Inc. (Nasdaq:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations(tm), today announced that OfficeMax(r) Incorporated (NYSE:OMX), a leader in both B2B office products solutions and retail office products, purchased the EnCase(r) eDiscovery Suite in order to conduct in-house electronic data discovery and collections.

With implementation of the eDiscovery Suite, OfficeMax, which employs more than 35,000 associates and manages more than 900 stores, will have the capability to search, collect and preserve electronically stored information across its desktops, laptops, servers and email systems. Using the eDiscovery Suite, OfficeMax can then efficiently process the collected data, and ready it for attorney review.

"We're extremely pleased that OfficeMax has chosen our EnCase eDiscovery Suite in support of its discovery processes," said John Colbert, CEO of Guidance Software. "Building upon OfficeMax's use of the EnCase(r) Enterprise platform, the scalability of the eDiscovery Suite expands OfficeMax's ability to search, collect, and preserve relevant information, and then process that collected data. In the end, this will result in significant cost savings for the office supplies retail giant."
