The Wounded Warrior Project is embarking upon the second segment of the 2007 Soldier Ride national tour. The Wounded Warrior Project recognizes the incredible sacrifices these soldiers have made and this event is meant to raise public awareness and support for wounded veterans and their families. All donations collected go to support the programs and services of the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides comfort and aid, counseling, rehabilitation and family assistance to the wounded during their hospital recovery and readjustment to civilian life.

U-Haul will be welcoming and honoring special guests, including representatives from the Wounded Warrior Project, the Vietnam Veterans Association, Mayor Phil Gordon and representatives from Congressman Mitchell's office and Governor Napolitano's office. Members of the United We Sing Troop (the USO girls) from New York will be performing at the event and information will be provided on how Americans can help support these soldiers who have given so selflessly to our country.

"For years U-Haul has been a strong supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project's Soldier Ride," said Steven Nardizzi, Deputy Executive Director. "U-Haul's long-standing commitment to the rehabilitation of our nation's severely wounded military personnel speaks volumes to their understanding of the role the American public can play in repaying these men and women for the sacrifices they have made. They are an example that other corporations should learn from and we cannot thank them enough."

"U-Haul is honored to salute these heroes who have given life and limb in the current war," stated John "J.T." Taylor, president - Phoenix Operations, U-Haul International. "These young people have lost limbs in service to their country and yet they are still willing to give something back to support those who are still serving and continue to serve. Soldier Ride is just one of the ways in which U-Haul is able to thank our veterans for their service and we are thrilled to be able to do this."
