LAPPEENRANTA, FINLAND - September 26, 2007 - With over 110 Pannevis vacuum belt filters and Larox pressure filters installations world-wide ranging from 4A Zeolite to complex fluid cracking catalysts, Larox is one of the worlds major suppliers of solid-liquid separation and processing equipment to zeolite based industries. Recent orders in 2007 continue the trend with sales of both filter types into various applications in the USA, China, South Africa and Germany. 4A Detergent Grade Zeolite The recent market trend is towards using the Larox "C" Series Automatic Pressure Filter for 4A zeolite, as the typical installation produces a filter cake containing only 17 - 23% residual moisture thereby reducing considerably the down stream drying costs when compared to traditional vacuum filtration methods. The "C" Series Automatic Pressure Filter is a fully automatic filter that can be operated with or without cake washing as needed, but when cake washing is used for 4A zeolites it provides comparable results to conventional technologies using the same or less wash water. Production capacities per unit area are also generally superior to existing technologies and a single Larox “C” Series filter can replace the two stage process that is common when using vacuum filters. Molecular Sieves The Pannevis RT horizontal vacuum belt filter from Larox is the preferred solution for molecular sieves as it is eminently suitable for the multi-step counter-current ion exchange process required to produce molecular sieves. Water washes and ion exchange can be carried out on a single machine with up to seven (7) separate stages possible. The RT filter is renowned for its wash efficiency and this is also true in the ion exchange stages. Fluid Cracking Catalysts As with molecular sieves, the Pannevis RT vacuum belt filter is the preferred solution and is widely used for NaY, 31X and ZSM-5 type catalysts as well as many others. Again the superior washing of the Pannevis filter is a major reason for the success, while the fully automatic continuous operation provides a consistent product at all times. Multiple wash steps (usually up to 5, but can go as high as 8 on a single machine), in either co- or counter-current configuration or in a combination of both make the filter extremely flexible and the filters can be easily reconfigured for product changes if required, usually by simple piping changes. The Larox “C” Series filters, the Pannevis horizontal vacuum belt filters and the full range of Larox products are fully supported by the Larox Service group, the most comprehensive and experienced network in the industry, covering the world with operations in over 40 countries and providing reliable support throughout the entire lifecycle of the product..
