Metso to Supply Crushing and Screening Equipment to Odebrecht in Angola and Venezuela


HELSINKI, Finland, Oct. 3, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Metso Minerals will supply crushing and screening equipment to Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S.A. for two projects: infrastructure projects in Luanda, Angola and Tocoma Dam project in Caroni River, Venezuela. The deliveries will be completed during the last quarter of 2007. The total value of the both orders is approximately EUR 9 million. The orders are included in Metso's third quarter order backlog.

The order for the Angola projects comprises a complete crushing system including crushers, screens, feeders and conveyor belt. Metso's solution will attend several Odebrecht infrastructure projects in the country with aggregates production capacity of 450 tonnes per hour.

The order for the Tocoma project in Venezuela is also for a complete crushing system, consisting of crushers, screens, vibrating feeders and a long-distance belt conveyor, as well as the erection supervision services. Metso's solution will serve the construction of a dam for a new hydroelectric power plant, which will reach full operation in 2013.
