Northrop Grumman Wins U.S. Department of Defense Counter-Narcoterrorism Technology Program Support Contract


MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 3, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the U.S. Department of Defense to provide technology development application for new products and services to defense and federal civilian agencies, state and local authorities, and partner nations engaged in counter-drug and counter-narcoterrorism (CNT) operations.

Northrop Grumman is one of five companies that will compete for task orders under this IDIQ contract. The contract, administered by the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville, Ala., has a total program ceiling of $15 billion over five years.

In addition to technology development application, the scope of this contract includes training, operations and logistics support to help combat narcoterrorism threats. Northrop Grumman's counter-narcoterrorism global support team will provide global operational expertise, rapid response technology solutions, and advanced research and development methodologies to help the Counter-Narcoterrorism Technology Program Office disrupt, deter, and deny narcoterrorist threats to the United States and its coalition partners. The team will also leverage industry, academia and government laboratories to enhance CNT missions as defined by the combatant commands and other government agencies.

Northrop Grumman teammates on this contract include 38 large and small businesses.
