WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - October 10, 2007) - Mark G. Anderson Consultants (MGAC) is
pleased to have represented Madame Tussauds throughout the planning, design
and construction of their newest interactive attraction in the Nation's
Capital. The attraction celebrated its grand opening on October 4, 2007.
The grand opening marked the end of many months of coordination and
collaboration between MGAC staff, Madame Tussauds' team and the many
contractors, consultants and others involved in a project as complicated
and challenging as Madame Tussauds Washington D.C.
Madame Tussauds, a part of the Merlin Entertainments Group, called on Mark
G. Anderson Consultants when they decided to bring their unique
entertainment concept to Washington, D.C. The new Madame Tussauds site is
located just blocks from two other complex, themed-entertainment venues
both managed by MGAC, The International Spy Museum, and former MCI National
Sports Gallery. Madame Tussauds project management consisted of a
multi-million dollar, 27,000 SF project that was constructed in the
landmark Woodward & Lothrop department store, located at the corner of 10th
and F Streets, N.W.
Madame Tussauds London was recently honored with the Themed Entertainment
Association's
"Thea Classic Award." The attraction's roots stem from Marie Tussauds' 1789
moldings of French guillotine victims. Since then, the company has expanded
its world-class entertainment projects which now include wax museums, theme
parks and other attractions throughout Europe, the Far East, and North
America.
Madame Tussauds Washington D.C. is a family-friendly attraction featuring
13 presidents from George Washington to George W. Bush; famous
Washingtonians, including legendary reporter Bob Woodward and music icon
Duke Ellington; sports legends, including Babe Ruth and Tiger Woods; and
today's biggest celebrities from George Clooney to Jennifer Lopez.
Visitors will also get a hands-on look at the 200-year-old process used to
create a wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
Mark Anderson, the firm's founder, said he was very pleased with the
successful outcome of the project and of the two MGAC Madame Tussauds
project management team leaders, Rebecca Wilson, 2007 Project Manager of
the Year, and Kirk Kennedy.
