Chanaral Resources Appoints Chairman of Its Advisory Board


BELLINGHAM, Wash., Oct. 15, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Chanaral Resources Inc. (Pink Sheets:CRLR) is pleased to announce that the Company has secured the services of Mr. Carl O. Windels in the position of Chairman of its Advisory Board.

Mr. Windels has thirty-nine years of experience as a Geophysicist with large mining companies in the resource sector, and he has been involved in major exploration projects in North and South America, Australia and Europe.

Mr. Windels held the position of Manager of Geophysics and Technology at Asarco Inc. from Denver, CO for 12 years where he designed, directed, and interpreted geophysical surveys as applied to various exploration targets including projects in the U.S., Canada, French Guiana, Peru, Chile, Portugal, Ireland, and North Africa.

He retired in 2002 to pursue a private consulting career in the mining sector. Since then he has worked in a consulting role with companies such as Grupo Mexico, Asarco Inc., Phelps Dodge Mining Company, Cambior Inc. Entree Gold Inc., Kinross Gold Company, Fairbanks Gold Mining Company, Wallbridge Mining, White Cloud Resources, LLC, Kenco Minerals, Suralco LLC, Rio Narcea Recursos, Condor Consulting Inc. HydroGeophysics, Inc., and Vista Gold Inc.

Prior to working as a consultant, Mr. Windels also held positions at Windels and Associates Inc. from 1989 - 1990, where he provided contract data processing and interpretation of multi-frequency EM airborne surveys. He then sold the exclusive rights to the processing software and all other assets to Asarco Inc. in June 1990.

From 1975 - 1981 he served as the Senior Geophysicist at Texasgulf Minerals and Metals Inc., Denver, CO and was later elevated to the position of Manager of Geophysics from 1981 - 1989. His primary duties included designing, directing, and interpreting geophysical surveys as applied to various exploration projects in the U.S., Canada, Panama, and massive sulphide exploration in Canada, Australia, and the northwestern U.S., and Alaska. In 1974, he founded Yetna Gold Corp., which was involved in the exploration and development of a small placer operation located in the Cash Creek Placer District of Alaska. Prior to that he was the Senior Geophysicist of Inspiration Consolidated Copper Co. based in Arizona from 1968 - 1974.

Over the years, Mr. Windels has been very involved in the development of processing procedures to visualize and interpret airborne multi-frequency EM and magnetics as 3D models. These procedures have been recently applied to a various number of geological environments including epithermal gold exploration in Nevada, polymetallic replacements deposits in Mexico and copper porphyry regional programs in Chile and Peru.

Mr. Windels graduated with a Professional Degree in Engineering Geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines of Golden, Colorado and he is a current member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
