Wall Street Journal Expands Multimedia Sales Operations With Key Veteran Sales Executives

Two Key Sales Executives to Develop Unique Integrated Programs for Advertisers


NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Today, The Wall Street Journal named Ron Boe, director, multimedia sales in the Detroit office and Phil Peterson, director, multimedia sales in the Los Angeles office, effective immediately.

Mr. Boe, 43, will be responsible for print and online sales for the Detroit region, which includes Cleveland and its surrounding territories. Mr. Peterson, 42, will be responsible for print and online sales for the Southern California region, which includes Arizona, Hawaii and southern Nevada. Their responsibilities will include delivering 19 million engaged, affluent consumers across Dow Jones platforms through mobile, online video and other new media in the print Wall Street Journal and the Wall Street Journal Digital Network (WSJ.com, MarketWatch.com, Barron's Online and AllThingsD.com).

Previously, Mr. Boe worked at Time Inc. where he held several sales management roles. Most recently he was responsible for integrated sales for Time Inc.'s Entertainment Group, which encompasses Entertainment Weekly, People, People En Espanol and People StyleWatch. Prior to working with the Entertainment Group, Mr. Boe was the director of integrated sales and marketing across all Time Inc. properties in Detroit. Prior to joining Time Inc., Mr. Boe worked for Campbell-Ewald Agency, where he served as vice president of account services. He serves on the board of directors of the Adcraft Club of Detroit and chairs the education committee which mentors young professionals in the marketing and advertising business. Mr. Boe graduated from The University of Illinois.

Mr. Peterson joined The Wall Street Journal in June 2005 as an account manager in Los Angeles, covering automotive and media accounts. He was named category director of media and entertainment in Feb. 2006. Mr. Peterson has worked extensively with the Journal's New York, Atlanta and Minneapolis sales teams, driving new channels of revenue for the Journal.

Prior to joining the Journal, Mr. Peterson worked in Chicago at Hachette Filipacchi Magazines and Disney Publishing. He served as regional manager for seven years at Disney Publishing's Discover Magazine in both Chicago and Los Angeles. Mr. Peterson graduated from The University of Colorado.
